“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.” | Seattle Senior Portrait Photography

“Something yellow. Something simple. Something elegant for grandma.” These phrases are scrawled in my notes from meeting Hannah and her Momma over coffee to plan this session. She may be elegant and she may be sunny, but not much is simple about Ms. Hannah.  One might say fierce with that lion’s mane. One might say intelligent in her pre-med studies. One might call her talented as a singer-songwriter. One might call her tenacious in her pursuit to study global health issues abroad. But I’m not sure simple is the word…

High School senior portraits have almost become like a right of passage in the U.S. A way of celebrating and commemorating not only completion of high school, but the journey into adulthood.  After high school many pursue their dreams through furthering their education with a college degree or multiple degrees…. Immersion into a depth of material that only makes you realize how little you know despite how much you’ve learned. Another passage on life’s journey worthy of commemoration and celebration. So when I was contacted to schedule a “senior portrait session” for this pre-med-almost-college-grad, I jumped at the chance. A day to celebrate not only an achievement but the journey of another -  a fellow human finding her way on life's journey.
