For us, the transmission gave up the ghost. Hubby changed careers. What was that bill I forgot to pay? Comcast? Doh! (Sorry, Hun, I guess that means no Sons of Anarchy for you tonight.)  So now you know a little about how our November has been. How 'bout yours?

Did you put off scheduling your annual photos for holiday cards and gifts until the last minute?  Yeah… us, too.  And if you’re like us, you may be fretting over gift-giving and penny-pinching, as well. Ugh. Sometimes life gets in the way of…. well.... life! 

Not everybody can afford the full custom photography experience every year and so we offer mini sessions every now and again for a little portrait or family photo update that’s easier on the budget. So in the spirit of giving, we are holding our first ever Holiday-themed Mini Sessions this Black Friday and Small Business Saturday! And at our lowest price ever.

The Session

Sessions are open to you and all members of your family (even the furry ones). We will meet in a [secret] Seattle park location for our time together. We must receive your session fee in advance to reserve your time. Worried that 20 minutes might not be enough time to get the perfect photos of your active family? Ask me about adding time or making it a full custom session for the family.

Ideas & Inspiration

In the Details: We have a few holiday themed tricks up our sleeve for your photos, but we always love when our client-family makes the photos all their own. Because this is a shortened session, we will be limited in the number of items and poses to incorporate, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to include a special item or two. Perhaps you want to bring a special family quilt to sit on, a photo of grandma, or an heirloom holiday ornament for little one to hold.

What to Wear: You don’t all have to wear the same thing. We suggest choosing a color theme and matching accessories to those colors. The family pictured above is a great example. We have more color and style inspiration on our blog.  We want you to be inspired, but don’t be afraid to be yourself! If your family wants to show up dressed as your favorite Star Wars characters wearing Santa Claus hats, we are totally down with that! (As a matter of fact we’d downright encourage it. Seriously. If you are that awesome, please call us.)

The Shop Small Movement

Chances are that by now you have heard of Small Business Saturday as an alternative to Black Friday Madness. As a small family business, we are advocates for supporting our friends and neighbors by shopping small and local.
